More children are walking, thanks to the support of their parents & carers and the inspiration of the

Star Walker scheme

There are

24% less cars parked outside school in a morning

40% less in an evening

tyres

FOBHS bought us a fantastic tyre trail and we’ve added a path round the field, encouraging children to play actively.

We have new sports clubs and tennis and swimming lessons in school.

We recycle paper,

we’re composting using our Rolypig composters

and we’re collecting mobile phones and printer cartridges for recycling and to raise funds.

We’re using recycled materials ~ our bird box is made out of an old estate agent’s sign and our amphitheatre has recycled plastic on the seats

We audited our energy use

and we’ve made plans to cut down where possible

We don’t have a big problem with litter

and we teach children to always throw litter away

We’ve got it!

The school was awarded an Eco Schools award in July 2006. Well done to everyone involved!
